The opportunity for SSSA community members to drive transformational growth and impact is now.

SSSA President Aaron Daigh has a clear goal for 2026: to “create avenues for a surge in grassroots efforts and programs within SSSA to leverage the creativity and innovation of our members.” 

To make this a reality, we are launching the Grassroots RFP. This isn't a traditional grant—it is an invitation to lead. Think of it as the Society investing its institutional resources and capacity into your vision, while helping you build the external partnerships and funding pathways to sustain it over time.

The Essentials

• The Support: Selected proposals receive dedicated staff coordination, administrative assistance, and access to SSSA’s global promotional networks and digital infrastructure.
• The Focus: We are looking for forward-thinking collaborative networks or "Think Tanks" that strengthen the future of soil science and member engagement.
• The Timeline:
  • The RFP opens: June 1, 2026
  • Submission deadline: July 15, 2026
  • Award selections and announcements: August 2026
  • Working Groups launch: September 2026
