Plan on tight budgets, personnel cuts, OMB tells agencies
July 11, 2017
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has told agencies to plan for fiscal year 2019 spending levels reflecting the administration’s proposals for fiscal 2018, while reorganizing and reducing their workforces. In many cases, agencies will need to seek significant reductions from current levels and at least the levels proposed in most of the FY2018 House appropriations bills. The directive came in the annual memo in which OMB sets guidance for agencies to make proposals that will be included in the budget proposal issued early the following year.
